This izakaya itself is reason enough for me to want to return to Sendai! Small and friendly family run place with amazing food. I really recommend to try the dried salmon or the "foya". Just note that foya has a really strong taste, like sea urchin, so only order if you like that.Do drink I recommend sake/nihonshu.To find the place, enter the dark alley shown in pictures. The chance for you to get a seat increases if you arrive close after opening hours.It helps if you can speak a bit Japanese. Otherwise, just say "nani o osusume shimasuka?" (なにをおすすめしますか。) to get whatever they recommend.

My favorite a historical Japanese sake bar.Nice wooden made counter and seat. They have a unique System of ordering a glass of drink. The appetizer come with a drink without ordering.And it is different type of or appetizer each time you order. That drink is approximately 1000 each. The small appetizer is including your drink.

Is there a better tavern than here? I think Japan is a world-class izakaya culture.
